The wonderfully talented fine-jewellery designer Nikos Koulis paid us a visit in our London studio this week to run us through his latest collection. And what did we discover? That the Greek designer – who studied gemology alongside literature and history at university – has a passion for travelling and a love of mythology and architecture, all of which he cites as inspiration sources for his creations. That his new collection features the most complex of cut-out patterns and the simplest of stars, each encrusted with diamonds and colourful precious stones. That he is a master of intricate, elegant craftsmanship.

‘Elegance is the way a woman carries herself,’ he explained, adding with a smile, ‘and I hope my pieces are addictively elegant.’ Who could resist?
