FENDI
Though this was an elegant, 30′s inspired collection full of ladylike pencil skirts and sumptuous furs, there was an element of humour throughout – Cara Delevignge carried the latest interpretation of Fendi’s ‘bag bugs’ – a furry version of designer Karl Lagerfeld.
GUCCI
The 60s were in full swing for Frida Giannini, with minidresses rendered in luxurious napa leather, snakeskin boots, and oversized shearling jackets.
JIL SANDER
The designer-less label put on a great collaborative show of chalky pastel shades in typical Sander silhouettes. The biggest talking point were the bright, stacked sole flat shoes – a Twitter frenzy.
MARNI
A riot of huge exaggerated shapes, sporty lines, bright colour and fur – and more fabulous flats (point-toed lace-ups with metallic details)
MOSCHINO
McDonalds, Hershey’s chocolate, Spongebob Squarepants, Jeremy Scott’s second collection for Moschino was the epitome of junk culture but fabulous nonetheless.
MISSONI
With the Missoni family looking on proudly from the front row, knits, oversized outerwear and loose, cropped trousers in a palette of orange, brown, blue and turquoise saw the famous zigzag reworked into a more urban collection.
STELLA JEAN
A spectacular presentation of Stella Jean’s signature bold print-clash layers. Motifs of woodland creatures and fish cemented an AW14 animal trend after it was a feature of Dolce & Gabanna’s show the day before.
VERSACE
Anchored a few emerging trends for AW14 including a definite 60′s vibe and red – a really RED red.
BOTTEGA VENETA
Not a trouser or a jacket in sight, just a perfectly executed collection of expertly crafted coats, skirts, dresses and knitwear that was graphic yet strikingly simple.
DOLCE & GABBANA
The fairytale show that was entitled ‘Once Upon a Time in Sicily’ certainly did enchant – especially the Red Riding Hood-esque capes. The wow came from the sexy super-short skirt parade at the end.
