Our Editors take a look back at the chilliest New York Fashion Week in memory. Here’s the Top 10 things we saw, fashions we loved and places we visited.
1. Antique Garage, 41 Mercer St – the best place for lunch but not just for the food, we were even treated by a cute trio of guys playing the cello, violin and saxophone. Fun. http://antiquegaragesoho.com
2. Karlie Kloss and Karen Elson dancing in their gold dresses during the Diane von Furstenberg finale, followed by a cannonball of glitter. Spectacular.
3. The Soho Grand – every Fashion Editor’s favourite hotel looked after us wonderfully – especially their green juice which kept us going www.sohogrand.com
4. We would simply not have coped without weather appropriate fashion by Sorel, Mr and Mrs Furs parka’s and Canada Goose.
5. The Marc by Marc Jacobs debut from Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley was a triumph. Ruth Chapman said “It’s all about the ninjas!”
6. Marc Jacob’s showed his first collection for his own line since leaving Vuitton. It was clean, pristine, and pulled together – he created the woman we all aspire to be!
7. Joseph Altuzarra married his beautifully proportioned mid-shin dresses in satin and finest cashmere, with gorgeous shearlings – exactly what we wanted to be wearing in that moment.
8. The Row and Tibi got our hearts racing for a more austere looks of trapeze silhouettes, brogues and lots of blankets coats. With the occasional mans blazer. Perfect.
9. Derek Lam’s colour palette – pastels with autumnal hues. He deftly paired dusty lilac with tawny chestnut and deep teal. Delicious.
10. Grey on grey, on grey – the colour of choice, almost everywhere. We loved it.
