Last week was a busy one at Matches No. 23 as we played host to MATCHESFASHION.COM’s womenswear SS14 press day – a VERY big event in our calendar.
The worlds biggest publications such as Vogue, Sunday Times Style, Tank, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE and Grazia stopped by to view our edit of next season. Also the most fashionable bloggers like Sandara Hagelstam of 5 inch and up, CHOCOLATE cookies and candies, Five Five Fabulous and Ella Catliff from La Petite Anglaise also put down their laptops and smart phones for long enough to discuss SS14 over a ginger ‘instant de-tox’ juice.
As always the house was looking and smelling wonderful with a vase of flowers at every turn decorating mantels and shelves, alongside the hottest accessories for next season. The house was divided up into sections grouping the pieces into holiday shop, new labels to MATCHESFASHION.COM, Resort 2014 and the main collection SS14 trends, alongside the fabulous new Freda collection and exquisite fine jewellery.
New labels for the season included Parisian designer and ex-Vogue staffer Rafaella Riboud, American sportswear chic from Adam Lippes, elevated denim label Aries, artisan produced Sarah’s bags and must-have shoe designer Adieu. Looking particularly stunning though were the trends jumping out from the rails, from Fondant Fancy pastel shades to Monochrome, 1990′s Redux to the New Proportions.
Delicious refreshments included a fresh pink grapefruit and orange salad, white truffle risotto and smoked fishcakes.
